Tell us a bit about yourself
I am a third-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology Program in the College of Education and Program Coordinator with We CU. In my research, I focus on understanding young adult well-being and social media use to inform positive and productive social media practices. I completed my undergraduate degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2019 where I got my B.S. in Psychological Science. In my free time, I love reading, cooking new foods, and finding new ways to exercise!
What are you passionate about?
One of the things I am most passionate about is finding ways to help myself and others make life meaningful. I hope to do this as a licensed psychologist in the future and it is also why I became involved in We CU. Engaging in service is an incredible way to work within your community to make a difference in yourself and in the lives of others.
If you could have coffee or tea with anyone, who would it be and why?
This is a tough question! I think I would have coffee with Amanda Montell, author of Wordslut: A Feminist Guide to Taking Back the English Language. This is the book I am currently reading, and I am obsessed with it! I would want to pick her brain about the intersection of linguistics and feminism.
Do you have any advice for We CU students?
I encourage every We CU scholar to reflect on their service either personally, with other scholars, or with the help of the We CU team to get the most out of their service experience.
